Canadian orders through Superbuy: the C$20 limit, HST and delivery fees

Quick answer: yes, Superbuy ships to Toronto and all of Canada, one of its top three markets. For goods from China, Canada's duty- and tax-free limit is only C$20; above that you pay duty, 13% HST in Ontario, and either Canada Post's C$9.95 handling fee or a courier's brokerage fee. The C$150 CUSMA threshold doesn't apply to China parcels.

Canada's rules for parcels from China, a worked Toronto bill, post versus courier, costs, support hours and timing.

Does Superbuy ship to Toronto and Canada?

Yes. Canada is one of Superbuy's biggest markets: about 5,400 of Superbuy's roughly 96,100 monthly searches worldwide, around 6%, tying with France for third place behind the US and UK (Semrush, September 2026). Canadian buyers get courier, postal and consolidated lines in Superbuy's calculator, and Canada's import rules work very differently from the US rules that dominate online advice, so it's worth reading the Canadian version.

Verdict: shipping to Toronto is routine. The thing to understand is Canada's C$20 threshold, which is much lower than most people expect.

What duty and tax does a Superbuy parcel to Canada owe?

For goods from China, Canada's duty- and tax-free limit is just C$20, by post or courier. The higher thresholds you may have read about (C$150 duty-free, C$40 tax-free) apply only to courier shipments from the US or Mexico under CUSMA, so they don't help Superbuy parcels. Above C$20, you pay:

  • Customs duty, at a rate that depends on the product's tariff code and origin;
  • GST or HST on the duty-paid value: in Ontario that's 13% HST;
  • A handling or brokerage fee: C$9.95 per dutiable item if Canada Post delivers it, or a courier's brokerage fee, which varies.

Splitting a haul into many small parcels to stay under C$20 doesn't work: CBSA doesn't treat a single transaction split into smaller shipments as low-value, and each small parcel pays the expensive first weight step anyway.

Worked example: C$80 of clothing to Toronto by post

Example charges on arrivalOntario
Goods (value for duty)C$80.00
Duty at 18% (example clothing rate)C$14.40
HST 13% on C$94.40C$12.27
Canada Post handling feeC$9.95
Paid on arrivalC$36.62

The 18% rate is an example of a rate many clothing items carry; check CBSA's customs tariff for your goods. Canada generally values goods excluding international freight. A courier line would replace the C$9.95 with the courier's own brokerage fee.

Notice how much of that bill is fixed: on a small parcel, the C$9.95 handling fee can be close to the tax itself. That's another reason to consolidate one bigger parcel rather than several small ones.

Verdict: budget roughly 30–50% on top of the goods value for a clothing parcel above C$20, depending on the duty rate and delivery route. Use our calculator with your own numbers.

Canada Post or courier: which line suits Toronto?

Canada Post lets you pay duty and taxes online from its tracking page once CBSA has assessed the parcel, before it goes out for delivery. If you think you were charged wrongly, the invoice (form E14) explains how to ask CBSA to review it, and the C$9.95 fee can be refunded where goods should have been exempt.

What does Superbuy shipping cost to Toronto?

Check Superbuy's calculator for current prices to your postal code. As a reference, Superbuy's published UPS Economy example prices a 2 kg parcel at CN¥508 (CN¥320 first 500 g, 3 × CN¥50, CN¥38 clearance), about C$104 at early-September 2026 exchange rates. The first step is where the cost sits, so one parcel beats several.

When is Superbuy support open in Toronto time?

Superbuy's site lists service hours of 09:00–18:00 Beijing time, marked "9/7". China doesn't use daylight saving, so the local window shifts when your clocks change: in Toronto that's 21:00–06:00 in summer time and 20:00–05:00 in winter.

When should Canadian buyers order?

Submit parcels by mid-January to avoid the Chinese New Year slowdown (6 February 2027). For December delivery, get slower postal parcels out of the warehouse by early November, and check Canada Post service alerts during the holiday peak. Taobao's 11.11 sale lands just in time if you order early in the month.

Superbuy Canada FAQ

Does Superbuy ship to Canada?

Yes. Canada is one of Superbuy's biggest markets, with about 5,400 of its roughly 96,100 monthly searches, tying France for third behind the US and UK (Semrush, September 2026). Canadian addresses get postal, courier and consolidated lines in Superbuy's calculator. Delivery itself is routine; the part to plan for is Canada's low C$20 threshold for goods from China.

Is there a duty-free limit for Superbuy parcels to Canada?

Yes, but it's just C$20 for goods from China, whether by post or courier. The C$150 duty-free and C$40 tax-free thresholds you'll see online only cover courier shipments from the US or Mexico under CUSMA, so they don't help Superbuy parcels. Above C$20 you pay duty, GST or HST and a handling or brokerage fee. Budget for these on almost every haul.

What is the Canada Post C$9.95 fee?

It's Canada Post's handling fee, charged on each dutiable or taxable mail item it collects duty and tax on. Courier lines such as DHL, UPS and FedEx replace it with their own brokerage fee, which varies. You can pay online from Canada Post tracking once CBSA has assessed the parcel. On small parcels the fee rivals the tax, so consolidate into one bigger shipment.

How much HST do I pay in Toronto?

Ontario charges 13% HST on parcels over C$20, calculated on the duty-paid value. In our example, C$80 of clothing at an 18% duty rate becomes C$94.40, so HST adds C$12.27, and Canada Post's C$9.95 fee brings the bill on arrival to C$36.62. Budget roughly 30–50% on top of the goods value for clothing, and run your own figures through our calculator.

Can I split my Superbuy order to stay under C$20?

No. CBSA doesn't treat one transaction split into several smaller shipments as low-value, so splitting won't keep you under C$20. It also costs more: each parcel pays the expensive first weight step, which on Superbuy's UPS Economy example is CN¥320 for the first 500 g. Use the 90 days of free storage to consolidate everything into one parcel instead.

What are Superbuy's support hours in Toronto time?

Superbuy lists service hours of 09:00–18:00 Beijing time. China has no daylight saving, so in Toronto that's 21:00–06:00 during summer time and 20:00–05:00 in winter, which means Superbuy's working day runs through your night. Send questions in the evening with order numbers and photos in one message, and you'll usually find a reply waiting in the morning.
